Getting StaticOps ready

This guide starts from a Windows 10 or 11 PC with FFXIV installed. ACT is required. FF Logs and Discord are optional, but FF Logs provides the precise rDPS, healing, mechanic and death data.

Requirements

Component Status Purpose
ACT + FFXIV Parsing Plugin Required Produces the combat files read by StaticOps
StaticOps official installer Required Stores and displays pulls locally
FF Logs account + Archon Recommended Uploads public fights live
Personal FF Logs Client ID + Secret Optional Replaces the credentials already included in the official distribution
OverlayPlugin Optional Displays an in-game DPS meter; StaticOps does not depend on it
Discord webhook Optional Sends live tracking and session summaries

1. Install ACT

  1. Download Advanced Combat Tracker.
  2. In the startup wizard, select Parsing Plugin, choose FFXIV Parsing Plugin, then download and enable it.
  3. In Plugins > Plugin Listing, confirm that FFXIV_ACT_Plugin.dll is enabled.
  4. Use Deucalion capture when offered. Running ACT as administrator or installing Npcap is normally unnecessary.

Official guide: ACT, OverlayPlugin and Archon setup.

2. Verify ACT logs

  1. Open FFXIV Settings > Log File Location in ACT.
  2. The usual folder is %APPDATA%\Advanced Combat Tracker\FFXIVLogs.
  3. Attack a training dummy and confirm that ACT records an encounter and updates the latest .log file.
  4. Use this same folder in ACT, Archon and StaticOps.

OverlayPlugin is optional. If used, enable End ACT encounter after wipe and End ACT encounter out of combat for cleaner pull boundaries.

3. Install StaticOps

  1. Download the latest StaticOps-Setup-vX.Y.Z.exe from GitHub Releases.
  2. For the temporary unsigned 0.x beta, verify the adjacent .sha256 file and confirm that the download URL belongs to github.com/Plume-Paopedia/Athena. Windows SmartScreen may warn that the publisher is unknown.
  3. Complete the language, privacy and ACT steps of the first-run assistant.

Automatic installation of unsigned betas becomes available from v0.2.1. Updating from v0.1.20 or v0.2.0 therefore requires one final manual installer download; later beta updates show an explicit confirmation inside StaticOps.

The installer uses %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\StaticOps, requires no administrator rights and installs Microsoft WebView2 only if missing.

  1. Sign in to FF Logs.
  2. Download Archon, choose FFXIV and select Live Logging.
  3. Select the ACT log folder, visibility Public, then start Go Live.

The official distribution configures public API access automatically and stores the embedded credentials in the Windows user DPAPI vault on first launch. To replace them, open FF Logs API clients, create a client, then enter its Client ID and Client Secret in StaticOps.

StaticOps detects recent public reports from Archon automatically. No OAuth user authorization is required, and private reports are unsupported.

5. Discord (optional)

Create a webhook in the target Discord channel and paste its URL into StaticOps. No bot token is required. See Discord’s webhook guide.

6. Pre-raid check

Open Command and verify ACT, storage and content. FF Logs and Discord warnings are non-blocking when those integrations are intentionally omitted.

Privacy and data

History, ACT logs, configuration and encrypted secrets stay on the PC. Sanitized crash reports are disabled until explicit consent. See the privacy policy.
